Why be a mentor? Mentoring provides a rewarding dimension to the role of teaching. Supporting a trainee or qualified colleague is an invaluable two way process to reflect on our current practice and explore new approaches to teaching. Mentoring is a key Post Threshold standard which develops pedagogic knowledge, planning, reflecting, target setting and management skills. enhance the whole school culture, improve and develop the knowledge and pedagogic skills of all involved and generate a great sense of achievement and satisfaction. We provide a training course for mentors that is accredited by Suffolk and Norfolk Initial Teacher Program (SNITT). We have also developed a variety of resources for mentoring trainees, qualified staff and researching the impact of mentoring. |
