Bring on the World (World Cup) Oxfam has
created a series of free online activities for 9-11 year olds. Bring on the
World uses football as a springboard to explore global issues including the
sportswear industry, whether competition is 'a good thing', and the
inequalities between participating countries. It will also help pupils learn
about the countries involved in the World Cup, and include a 'country trumps'
card game, mapwork, debate, and photo activities. http://www.oxfam.org.uk/coolplanet/bringontheworld The resource
will be launched on Friday 19th May, but teachers can view an outline of what
will be available, here: http://www.oxfam.org.uk/coolplanet/bringontheworld For teachers wishing to explore the global sportswear trade in
more detail, we have Looking Behind the Logo ? a simulation game for ages 13+. For free assembly plans
and to order the game, visit: http://www.oxfam.org.uk/coolplanet/teachers/olympics/index |
