Modern
Life
Welcome
1974
Welcome to this website, about what it is like to live in England in 1974.

I go to Wymondham Secondary Modern School, and am going to take ‘O’ level English, maths, geography, history and technical drawing. I am also doing CSE woodwork and physics.

My Dad is a lecturer at Keswick College and my Mum is a housewife.

I play bass trombone in the school brass band and am teaching myself the recorder. I am also very interested in making things out of mechano and have just finished making a machine for automatically line catching mackerel. I’ve painted my room bright green and orange.

My family are from Cornwall and it takes us two days to drive there, because the roads are so bad. We have an Austin 1300 car and have had seatbelts fitted, because my Mum is very safety conscious.
