4.1 Welcome. Today we are going to practice the skills you will need to analyse your survey data.

4.2* Save Analysis to your Survey folder, then watch the demonstration by your teacher of how to apply a data filter to check for dirty data.

4.3 Check the worksheet for dirty data, deleting any rows that cannot be analysed.

4.4* On the Input sheet, watch a demonstration by your teacher of how to sort and search the data, copying relevant records onto a Process sheet and entering the number counted into a data table.

4.5 Work through the sheets in Analysis. You should aim to have produced at least 3 charts by the end of the lesson.

Teacher notes:

4.2 We are checking for rows that contain blanks, or obvious errors such as text in a number field. Such rows should be deleted by right-clicking the row number and choosing Delete.

4.4 When we talk about ‘searching’ data, we mean using Data-Filter-Autofilter to create filters (searches) for specific data items (such as ‘M’ in the Gender field). Filtered rows should be copied, then pasted onto a Process sheet for analysis.
